A lifetime dream to swim with the whales . On our second trip to Aitutaki it was realised . We had the best experience and we just loved how they love their island and have so much experience in the field . We did a few whale swims as you can’t predict what you’ll see or how they will interact with you . We were so lucky on our last trip . We had such a great crew Quinton, QJ, Dylan and Chris . Thanks for a trip in a lifetime . We’ll be back next year.

we went kitesurfing and the spot around the honeymoon island is stunning. mike was a great guide and made the experience even more unique. he is just a lovely person – we enjoyed the time with him and he looked after us very well 🙂

Can't stop talking about this!! What an incredible whale watching /swimming experience!! Thanks to Quinton and his team we had an epic time!! Can not rate this enough 🌟 👌 An absolute must do when visiting Aitutaki. We got to swim with mum and calf for 30mins, so lucky!! Jumped in the water and just admired the whales, glided peacefully next to them 🐳🐳 so magnificent 😍 ❤️ what a brilliant amazing opportunity. Loved it 🏆🏆 Thanks wet n wild team, see you next time 👍🫶

We did the snorkeling and Lagoon tour with them. We were a group of 8 and did a private tour. The guides were fantastic, they knew the area well and let us go at our own pace. We never felt rushed. We visited the clam farm which was amazing and swam with the giant trivoli. We also went to 3 different islands including honeymoon and one foot island. At one foot island they cooked us an amazing lunch! We got in to snorkel one more time and found a turtle! Later that week my husband did a deep sea fishing tour with them where they saw whales and about 50 dolphins. I highly recommend this tour group.

If you're heading to Aitutaki, definitely get on the water with Quinton! Could not have asked for more out of an afternoon. We had some requests but we were open to his guidance on what to do. We wanted to do some snorkelling, general lagoon sight seeing and I asked to have a crack at catching a GT. Ticked all the boxes, the best snorkelling experience we have had (swimming with massive GT and wrasse, seeing the biggest clams ever), dropped us at honeymoon island for a quick walk, saw big turtles and then very obliging to my request to cast some poppers at the reef for GT. Unfortunately no takers, so we headed out wider to troll for Tuna for a bit before heading back. 100% money's worth for the experience and such amazing, friendly operators with a wealth of knowledge.

WARNING / CAUTION

To all VISITORS wanting to swim with the whales and all overseas INTERNATIONAL Whale Swim retreat/tour OPERATORS coming to Aitutaki Cook Islands, to swim with the whales – Please be advised that Immigration has now stepped in and you must have a legally registered business in the Cook Islands with a 50%+ local partner to run whale retreats to the Cook Islands, or here on a working visa for a local company.

So if you have gone and booked or seen any operators doing whale swim retreats to Aitutaki including accommodation , flights, food, days out on the water for a package deal ect… then they’re most likely not a local registered business in the Cook Islands. As far as we know we are the only Legal registered business in the Cook Islands doing whale swim retreat packages locally and internationally.

This year 2026 immigration stepped in to enforce the laws which had slowly been taken advantage of over the years (You can’t have an overseas website/business and operate in the Cooks paying the overheads and taking the profit home not paying any tax here. If you are wanting to do whale swim retreats to the Cook Islands then give us call or email for options on collaboration for tours. As the founders of whale swimming in Aitutaki and building up this amazing activity over the years for the Island being one of Aitutaki’s most biggest attractions and also having our own whale swim retreats, we are glad to see this problem being addressed keeping the money in our country .
